Welcome to the Children Sun Safety Education Center
A Few Facts:
The sun produces invisible rays called ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB). These rays can cause short- and long-term skin damage.
50% of total lifetime sunlight exposure occurs before the age of 20.
Protecting your skin from the sun not only prevents painful sunburn, it also significantly reduces the risk of developing skin cancer later in life.
Learn about your skin, check out the ways to protect yourself, learn more about sunburns and take the quiz

We acknowledge Cresandra Corbin in the project development, Ellen Adame for the creative art design,
and Rao Saladi, M.D. for overseeing the project.
